The Visiting Artist, Scholar, and Designer Program at RMCAD is pleased to present Micah White as the second visitor and lecturer in the Program’s Interventions series. Micah White’s lecture titled The Future of Protest, took place at on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Mary Harris Auditorium.

About the Lecturer:
Micah White is a former editor of Adbusters magazine and co-created the international meme Occupy Wall Street, which called for protests of social and economic inequality. Influenced by philosophy, history, ecology, the practice of culture jamming, and technological innovations, White inspires seemingly minor contributors to harness the power of information systems and participate in the creation and control of culture.

About the Lecture:
White’s lecture The Future of Protest critically evaluates Occupy Wall Street and explores the ways visual culture plays an important role in social change. Overall there is urgency and optimism in his call for the creative re-imagination of the world.
